Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting with Mr. Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam on January 18th, 2024 at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Construction, in attendance of  Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam - Mr. Irmina Perojo, Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Director of the International Cooperation Department and Ms. Pham Thi Hong My, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department.

At the meeting, Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen sent to Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi the best greetings on the occasion of the New Year 2024 and also conveyed New Year's greetings from Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Co-Chairman of the Vietnam – Cuba Intergovernmental Committee to Minister Nghi.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi sincerely thanked Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen and sent his best regards and wishes to Comrade Ricardo Cabrisas Cruiz and the Ambassador on the occasion of the New Year 2024.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen discussed the activities of the Intergovernmental Committee and plans to organize the 41st Meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Committee in the near future. The two sides agreed to focus on the organization of the 41st Meeting such as reviewing and evaluating the achieved results, clarifying existing problems and obstacles, further promoting the effectiveness of cooperation, especially trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.


Overview the Meeting

The Cuban Ambassador also announced that in recent times, the Cuban Government has applied a number of solutions to overcome immediate difficulties for Vietnamese businesses in Cuba. In the coming time, the Cuban Government will continue to create more favorable conditions to attract more Vietnamese businesses to invest and do business in Cuba, especially in the field of food production to meet Cuba's domestic needs and aim to partly export to markets in Latin America.

The two sides agreed to coordinate closely to well prepare for the organization of the 41st Meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Committee in the near future.
