The delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung attended the 11th World Urban Forum (WUF 11) in Katowice city (Poland) on June 27th.

 The theme of this year's forum is "Transforming Our Cities towards a Better Urban Future", which aims to address solutions to current problems: Poverty, inequality, recession environment, climate change and conflict. It also calls for action and commitment from Governments around the globe.

The Forum had 40 networking events. The Vietnamese delegation visited and connected at 20 events connecting with countries, including events such as Malaysia's Open Discussion session with the participation of the Minister of Housing and Local Government to promote the sustainability and urban resilience capability that created Malaysia's livable cities and communities.

The delegation participated in the event of connecting session 6 on Cities + Culture + Climate; Networking session 15 on the Implementation of the Spanish Urban Agenda (SUA); Session 4 on urban resilience through action programs, lessons learned from South Africa; Session 12, among Finland and international partners and representatives of local and regional governments, representatives from the national associations of local governments and international organizations.



The delegation visited 90 exhibition booths at the event.

In addition, the delegation also attended Special Session 2: Urban Data and Circular Economy. The event would focus on two aspects of sustainable cities: technological innovation for urban governance and institutional structures to support new models of cities and comprehensive data systems. The delegation also listened to discussions on key issues and topics such as: Options for redesigning the economy to achieve equitable and sustainable urban development; challenges and opportunities to promote circular economy in the construction environment and urban areas; business models, financial models, strategies and tools to promote the circular economy…

During the program, the delegation of the Ministry of Construction also visited 90 exhibition booths introducing innovative solutions of international organizations, community organizations and leaders in the process of sustainable urbanization from all over the world. The delegation will participate in sideline meetings with organizations at the 11th World Urban Forum from June 27-28 in Poland.
